5,000 people attended the Grand Opening of Houston Freightliner Western Star, where The Marshall Tucker Band was the headliner. At over 300,000 square feet on 68 acres, Houston Freightliner Western Star will be the largest heavy-duty truck sales and service facility in the world. The facility contains 100 service bays that are interior-loaded with air-conditioning. The parts department alone is over 70,000 square feet and will be a 24-hour/day operation with multiple loading docks for receiving and wholesale distribution. This facility will also serve as the corporate headquarters and will offer a world-class environment to attract the best and brightest from the industry. The self-standing 12,500-square-foot training facility will open operations in 2024 as SelecTechnical Institute and prepare diesel technicians for their careers.
