20 W .B. and Lee Cavender hosted the Texas Dealer Academy for their fall meeting at the J. W. Marriot San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa. From the opening night reception at the spectacular Land Rover San Antonio through the full day seminar featuring five accomplished speakers assembled by TDA Trustee TimCrenwelge, these young deal- ers continued their development through dealership education and networking. In the three years of their participa- tion, TDA members Trey Ma xwell, Daryll Gremillion, T.J. Gullo, Anthony Rodriguez and Brett Rodriguez along with Lee and W.B. Cavender have hosted their fellow young dealers at a variety of family owned venues. This has been one of the most rewarding aspects of the Acad- emy. The reception at Land Rover of San Antonio featured inspiring messages from Bobby Cavender, W.B. Cavender and Rick Cavender who came in support of their sons and nephews, W.B. and Lee. Numbering 57 strong, the Texas Dealer Academy members have taken ownership of the program and now drive its mission and curriculum. Headed by Chairman T Harper and Trustee Tim Crenwelge, these young dealers have embraced the on-line training of NADA University and the twice a year seminars of leading edge dealership management instruction. Next on the schedule is Dallas in 2014. If you are a dealer’s family member or key manager between 20 and 40 and are em- ployed in a dealership, please contact Kathy Sims at TADA at ksims@tada.org and join this dynamic group of young dealers who are preparing for their future in this essential industry.
