11 2014 FALL T he saying, “change is a constant” couldn’t be more true than in the car business! All the latest advances in technology find their way into the automobile. The manufacturers provide and require training to keep our sales and service personnel up to speed on this cutting edge tech- nology. But where does an individual turn to be the best dealer? Where does he or she learn how to manage a car dealership ef- fectively? How does a dealer keep up with the latest legislative and regulatory issues facing the automotive industry? How does a new car dealer develop a network of fellow dealers representing all manufacturers to navigate the challenging waters of this industry? The answer to all these questions is simple – be an active member in our state association – TADA, Texas Automobile Dealers Association! To help our young and upcoming future dealers, TADA launched TDA – Texas Dealer Academy. “TEXAS DEALER ACADEMY” is the one stop shopping place for our young future dealers. It is here that they have access to more than 137 educational courses through NADAUniversity which covers all aspects of the dealership – business management, fixed operations, employee relations, customer relations, advertising and marketing, vari- able operations, etc. These courses are taught by a Who’s Who of subject matter experts. It is through TDA that individuals will learn firsthand from TADA staff and guest speakers of the legislative and regulatory issues affecting our industry. And it is through TDA that candidates will build relationships and network with their fellow colleagues to become the best deal- ers in Texas! The friendships developed under this program will provide the future leadership of TADA. To become a member of the Texas Dealer Academy, contact Kathy Sims at ksim@tada.org . The next Dealer Academy meeting is scheduled for November 9-10, 2014 in Austin. TEXAS DEALER ACADEMY BY TIM CRENWELGE, DEALER TRUSTEE
