11 FALL 2015 energetic Williams also included working for good government for Tarrant County, Texas and the U.S. He successfully served George W. Bush as his Regional Finance Chairman for both of Bush’s gubernatorial campaigns, chaired the National Finance Committee’s Eagles Program for George W’s winning presidential bids, and was the state finance chair for Texas Senior Senator John Cornyn. Roger was appointed Texas Secretary of State in 2002 where he was a major influence on Texas growing to become the 12th largest economy in the world. In 2012, Roger Williams continued a series of firsts for Texas franchised dealers by being elected to the U.S. House of Repre- sentatives in newly formed Congressional District 25. Throughout this whirlwind odyssey of political and legislative achievement, Roger established a thriving Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership in Weath- erford, Texas just to the west of his Fort Worth roots. Roger’s equally talented wife Patty runs the dealership while Congress- man Williams presides in Washington. Patty is not alone in the management of the family business. She has their remark- able daughters Jacqueline (J.J.) and Sabrina leading the family into the third generation of service to Texas. Both graduates of Texas Christian University and founding members of TADA’s Texas Dealer Acad- emy, J.J. and Sabrina are well positioned to continue the Williams family’s 76 year legacy as franchised dealers. With the construction of a new deal- ership on Interstate 30 in Weatherford, Roger Williams Chrysler Dodge Jeep begins the next chapter in an essential industry for this iconic Texas dealer family. In Congressman Williams’ other busi- ness, the pursuit of good government for America, he recently led the way in the House Financial Services Committee to approve a bill which would significantly limit the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s attack on dealers who serve the needs of consumers in auto lending. Another mission of CongressmanWil- liams is the House Conservative Fund which was created to maintain the con- servative majority in Congress and assure that principled conservatives are elected and re-elected. As a lifelong businessman who has put his own money at risk, worked long and hard to establish a successful dealership, and whose family’s reputation is on the line every day serving Texas, Roger Williams and every member of his family, Patty, J.J. and Sabrina Williams, reflect the values, culture, integrity and civic leadership that franchised dealers bring to our state and to our country. Texas is a much better place because of dealer families like the Williams, and we are fortunate that a new generation will continue to serve Texas for decades to come.
