7 FALL 2015  DON KERSTETTER — CONTINUED ON PAGE 8 noble cause. Each year Classic Chevy Sugar Land holds an annual Chili Cook-off that raises money for the local Police Officer's As- sociation and their families. When we started the program I asked Don what my budget was to hold the event and his response was not to worry about the budget but to make it the best event in Fort Bend. We have grown each year from 12 teams and approximately 600 attendees to this year 50 teams and over 3000 local folks having fun while raising over $50,000 for the Association. He is an active member of the Sugar Land Exchange Club and Classic is the premier sponsor of their annual fundrais- ing event which is a Spaghetti Cook-off featuring many city employees, police, fire, city council held at the Fluor corporate campus in February of each year. This year Exchange served over 4500 people and raised $150,000. Also close to Don's heart is the ARC of Fort Bend which raises money to help sup- port adults with disabilities. The dealership is the major sponsor of both of their annual fundraising golf tournament and Western Dance held at the George Ranch. Don is involved with Kick Start Kids which is Chuck Norris' charity to help keep kids off drugs. It is a fantastic pro- gram to give kids the time and mentors for constructive self-esteem building through karate. Classic Chevy Sugar Land is also the event sponsor of the annual Missouri City Juneteenth Celebration and Parade. This is a week-long celebration of the Eman- cipation Proclamation with events that raise money for scholarships for local area graduating high school seniors. It is not only large organizations that Don and Classic support but smaller ones such as the Hispanic Heritage Foundation in Rosenberg Texas that bought 19 com- puters for local incoming college freshman. Classic supports a local Christmas Toy Drive, holiday food drive and a local FFA Chapter. Don is engaged with the community in so many ways it is hard to put them all down on paper. It seems that everyone in Fort Bend has met him or has been touched by his generosity and giving heart. The best part is he encourages all his employees to support and help the community knowing that when you give people will give back to us.” With the dealership force of 250 super- heroes, Don Kerstetter and his remarkable team have made a difference for thousands of lives and countless vital institutions throughout Sugar Land, Texas and Fort Bend County. This dealership represents every good quality of a family owned and family staffed community based business that makes Texas franchised new car and truck dealerships essential to the very fabric of our state. 
