23 WINTER 2015 to the greater good. These traits are also reflected in the character of Ancira’s Executive Managers. I don’t know of any organization that has more capable key man- agers committed to the mission of the organization. Joey Blackmon, Valerie Tackett, Betty Ferguson, Greg Spence and many others provide the leadership that has allowed Ancira Enterprises to grow into one of themost outstanding dealer organizations in the country. Robin and Ernesto take such pride in their city and being a part of its success and its bright future. The Ancira organization and the Ancira family deserve recognition for helping create a town that is a model for American communities. Through their hard work and sacrifice they have built a successful business. They know that it is their responsibility to give back to the community. They do it about as well as it can be done. They have passed that sense of re- sponsibility on to the next dealer generation through their daughter April and son-in-law Jason Thompson. In the 100 year history of the Texas Automobile Dealers As- sociation, there have only been 15 automobile dealers who have been named as a TADA Legend. Ernesto Ancira was Number 11. To be a legend in our business you have to be someone who has transformed an industry that is essential to the quality of life of every Texan. Car dealers do much more than run a business. Ernesto and Robin Ancira have established a legacy in education, health care, public service and improving people’s futures in a way that transcends them as individuals and will live on forever in the countless lives that they have touched. As a couple who never seeks recognition or applause, but who deserves every accolade a community can bestow, congratulations Robin andErnestoAncira on receivingTheGovernor DolphBrisco, Jr. Salute to Excellence Award. 
