34 Houston Hosts The Texas Dealer Academy T exas Dealer Academy Trustee Tim Crenwelge and 40 members of the TADA young dealer organization met in Houston on November 8th and 9th for another outstanding session of training and networking. The education program for future industry and association leaders is in its fifth year and going strong. New members join with every meeting and Trustee Crenwelge never fails to provide leading edge, quality education for the members. The November meeting at Hotel ZaZa kicked off with a night of dinner and bowling at the glitzy Lucky Strike. The follow- ing day the members were hard at work in an intense session of financial statement analysis led by TomCarney from the National Automobile Dealers Association Academy. One of NADA’s top instructors, Tom Carney used each member’s own financial statement to present analysis and ideas essential to the member’s understanding of the key information and benchmarks available in a dealership operating statement. Carney’s participation is indicative of the commitment that NADA as well as TADA have made to these young dealers and their future in the industry. The TADA program is unique in that the members receive the benefit of 24/7 on-line training from NADA University throughout the year, in addition to the two annual training/networking sessions. Guided by their leader, dealer TimCrenwelge and TADA V.P. Kathy Sims, these dedicated, bright young dealers prove with each passing meeting that the future of Texas franchised dealerships is in excellent hands for years to come. If you have a dealer family member 20 to 40 or a young key manager in the dealership who you would like to have partici- pate in the Texas Dealer Academy, please contact Kathy Sims (ksims@tada.org ) at TADA.
