16 The New Generation of a Model Dealer Family W hen Jennings Anderson moved from San Antonio to Boerne in 1979 he opened a Ford dealership in a town that was surrounded by open country, farms and fields where the livestock outnumbered the citizens. The dealership was in downtown Boerne with a one car showroom, two service stalls and room to park twenty cars on the lot. Jennings told his wife, “If we can sell twenty cars a month, I think that we can make it.” Today the legendary car dealer, Texas A&M hero and famed running back for Brackenridge High and the Ag- gies would be proud to see how his daughter DeeAnn and son-in-law Scott Wilson have grown that rural Ford store. Boerne, Texas has become one of the premier communities in the country and Jennings Anderson Ford has been a major contributor to the success of the town and its institutions. Growth in Texas suburbs leads the nation, and that growth is not possible without franchised car and truck dealers providing essential transportation, employment and community support. The great Jennings Anderson would also be proud to see the third generation of the dealer family, Amy Wilson Berg, take a prominent role in the business with her father, Scott, who is a Board member and leader for TADA. Along with her dad, Amy is the face of Jennings Anderson Ford in their television commercials, at the dealership and in the com- munity, as Amy continues the family honored tradition of personal service and caring for others. A founder of the Texas Dealer Academy, TADA’s young dealer division, Amy continues as an industry and community leader, following her grandfather and father in lending her talents to the greater good.
