16 L ost Pines ToyotaDealer Principal Carlos Liriano was awarded the Diversity Advocacy Award from the National Association of Minority Automobile Dealers (NAMAD). The award was presented at the 2017 NA- MAD Annual Conference, which was held at the Fontainebleau in Miami, Florida from July 11 - 14 . The Diversity Advocacy Award is given to automotive field leaders who are dedicated to helping minorities pursue their career dreams in the automobile industry. Born in Cuba, Carlos Liriano and his parents immigrated to America and made a home in New Orleans, Louisiana when he was nine years old. Now as Dealer Principal of Lost Pines Toyota and founder of the Liriano Fam- ily Foundation, Carlos is renowned for his diversity advocacy . “After immigrating to America as a child, I have been blessed with Carlos Liriano receives Diversity Advocacy Award July 24, 2017 NAMAD Annual Conference opportunities and now I am able to return this blessing, not just to people within my own community, but to all minorities” said Liriano. Since his relocation to Bastrop in 2011, he’s become a staple to the community for both leadership and public service. Liriano’s outreach activities not only promote minority prosperity but also aim to assist the community as a whole. Most recently, he and the Liriano Family Foundation donated $500.00 to BCESD1 and the Bastrop Fire De- partment for Vehicle Safety Training at the bi-monthly Lost Pines Toyota Gumbo Friday. Liriano’s Diversity Advocacy Award is an impressive addition to his current list of accolades, which include numer- ous President’s Awards, 2015 & 2016 Outstanding Support to TexasMilitary Department and the 2015 NAMAD Innovation Award. His work ethic and over 30 year automotive experience led him to be recognized by ToyotaMotor Sales for sales and service excellence and to become Central Texas’ first Gold LEED certified dealership for his commitment to the environment. Liriano will continue to exemplify the ideals of his Diversity Advocacy Award by expanding his service to both minorities and Bastrop County with more family-friendly community events and charitable donations. Carlos and Laurie Liriano and their dealership employees have raised countless thousands of dollars to ben- efit those in need for everything from flood relief to breast cancer awareness. Through their volunteer service and that of their remarkable staff, Central Texas is a better place to live. This national award for diversity advocacy is a perfect example of dealers working for the benefit of others, and Carlos Liriano exemplifies all that is good about Texas franchised dealers.
