16 several San Antonio TDA meetings, and individual members have visited the dealerships of other Academy members…all part of the education process. At one of the group’s Austin sessions, Daryll Gremillion and Trey Maxwell arranged a tour of theMaxwell FIAT store inTheDomain, where Nyle Maxwell spoke to the members about the importance of working together to advance the industry. Anthony and Brett Rodriguez and T.J. Gullo took the Academy members to their grandfather’s car museum for a tour and dinner during a Woodlands meeting. As fate would have it, a thunderstorm knocked out the power in the museum and for miles around. That didn’t keep the intrepid Tony Gullo, Sr. from cranking up some generators and cooking dinner and touring his amazing car collection with emergency lighting and the help of his three grandsons. Since the beginning of the Texas Dealer Academy in 2011, there has been a career progression for many of the members who are now dealer opera- tors, GM’s and department heads. Five TDAmembers have been elected to the TADA Board of Directors since the Academy was organized. Scott Peters, Jereme Schoemaker, W.C. Smith III, Stephen Gilchrist and Brandon Tomes represent their Texas districts on the TADA Board as the new generation of dealers takes the reins of leadership for the association. In 2018, Scott and W. C. advanced to the position of Vice Chairman on the Board. Also since the program began there have been several marriages and a number of blessed events that have made the twice a year meetings even more enjoyable and interesting.
