Walk; Boys and Girls Clubs; House our Heroes; American Heart Association; and this year, the Family Service Association. As an example of April’s genuine concern and caring for others, here is the text of a letter that she sent to Pam Crail, President of the San Antonio Automobile Dealers Association concerning her current community project. Dear Pam, So, as always I am behind yet another charity this year. I am supporting Family Services and I have known them for years. I mentored a little girl in the Edgewood School District and I saw as she and her family found refuge from the day to day drudge by hanging out at Family Service’s Neighborhood places. I have seen them hand out countless school supplies to families in need every year and we participate every year with a backpack drive. I believe Ancira+Mopar+countless others delivered 1,000 backpacks altogether last year. However, one of my favorite things they do is provide financial planning and education. So many folks who are on their last dollar seek help fromFamily Services and they literally have them saving, getting degrees, and paying all their bills on time with a well-paying job by the time they are done, setting a fine example for their children on education and money management. They have helped so many save thousands and really aided in turning the lives around of the countless in need in San Antonio. Most of the charities I support make a HUGE impact with a very narrow window of offerings to describe. However, this group does so much I have to direct folks to their website for more info! So this year I am helping them sell tables/sponsorships for their Thankful, Farm to Table event in November. It should be a HUGE celebration as the Association is celebrating their 115th year.
