6 Jim Hurst Takes to the Skies For Cancer Patients W hen the Hurst family of Longview joined the Ford business in 1915, Ford Motor Company was only twelve years old; the Model T had seen seven years of production; and Henry Ford, still had thirty more years to run the company. Today a member of the Ford family, fourth generation Bill Ford, heads the company, and a member of the Hurst family, Jim, runs the Ford dealership in Longview. From a family enterprise started by his grandfather Julian Hurst and his partner, J.G. Pegues, then led by his legendary father J.G. Hurst, Jim Hurst has continued the family legacy of selling Fords and serving the community for 103 years. The same family and same franchise for over a century.
