28 The Tomes Family 2018 Large Family Business Award B aylor University has rec- ognized the Tomes fam- ily of McKinney with the presentation of the award that signifies their dealer group as the most outstanding large family business in Texas for the past year. Barbara Tomes, the daughter of legendary Denton Ford dealer Bill Utter, her husband, former TADA Director and industry leader Bob Tomes, along with their son Brandon, a current TADA director and a leader in TADA’s young dealer division, the Texas Dealer Academy, were presented the award by the Baylor University Institute for Family Business. “The Inst it ute for Fami ly Business is excited about the 2018 selection of Award Winners,” said William J. Worthington, Director. “The Institute celebrates its 29th year of inspiring Texas family business. These f irms demonstrate the commitment to family and firm that we admire.” Baylor University’s Institute for Family Business honored and recognized the Tomes Auto Group (Bob Tomes Ford & Brandon Tomes SUBARU) of McKinney, Texas, as the 2018 Texas Large Family Business of the Yea r winner with a banquet on November, 30th, 2018 at Baylor Universit y ’s Paul L. Foster Campus for Business and Innovation. Baylor Univer sit y ’s Awa rd Program - now in its 29th year – recognizes outstanding firms who demonstrate a commitment to Texas business while serving their employees, community and industry.
