The Women’s Network of the Houston Automobile Dealers Association (HADA) recently welcomed over 60 automotive professionals from across the region to the Julia Ideson Building in downtown Houston for its 2026 Spring Networking Event.

Representatives from Smith Auto Family in Levelland recently presented a 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E to the South Plains College (SPC) automotive service technology program.

Eight of the 14 students who completed this summer’s Fast Track Automotive Training Program at the Collin College Technical Campus in Allen are already employed by automotive dealers — several of them sent to the program by the dealerships that hired them — and the remaining six are actively interviewing.

High school seniors from across Central Texas put their automotive skills to the test on Friday, April 17, competing in a regional Auto Tech Competition hosted by the North Texas Automobile Dealers (NTXAD) in partnership with Waco-region dealers and Texas State Technical College (TSTC) at TSTC’s Waco campus.

It has been nearly 10 years since the World Economic Forum (WEF) published the now-infamous article imagining a future in which “you’ll own nothing” and supposedly “be happy.” Although the WEF later removed the article after widespread public backlash, the idea has never really gone away. In fact, in some sectors, we seem to be moving closer to that future every year.
